I most certainly do not have everything figured out in teaching. And the moment I might feel like I do… everything changes – like a pandemic and diving head first into remote learning, for instance! However, I am learning and growing everyday, and I would love to invite you to join me on my journey. My dad always said, “Experience is the best teacher, but the experience of others is least painful.” So, I think we can find the most success when we learn and share with each other.

I graduated with an undergrad in education 3 years ago. I am currently working on grad work to further my expertise in the classroom, growing young minds, and hopefully becoming a resource for you. I have much more to grow in, but the most encouraging thing to me is seeing how far I’ve come.

  1. I grew up in the house my grandparents built and my dad grew up in – so as you can imagine, I’m pretty sentimental.
  2. I am a glass half-full type of person – to a fault.
  3. I LOVE people, and I take so much pleasure in meaningful conversations with anyone over coffee or tea.
  4. I have a major sweet tooth, but I am trying hard to love fitness and healthy eating more. *thumbs up if you can relate!*
  5. I married my incredible Korean-American Husband in the middle of COVID-19.
  6. I wanted to be a teacher since I was 5 years old, so I am genuinely living my dream come true every day (even on the days it may not feel like it).
  7. I find architecture absolutely stunning and fascinating – I think it goes along with my love of History.
  8. I enjoy being in nature at all times especially with my husband and my new puppy, Louie.
  9. My family is my world and I’ll do anything for them.
  10. I see my students as my own children and love them deeply, but I don’t mind sending them home to their own parents at the end of the day. 🙂

Education is the cornerstone of society. It is what shapes and grows the future generations to come. My mission as a teacher is to expand the young minds within my classroom in order to help them become successful and impactful members within all spheres of our society. I believe I can do this by making learning fun, engaging, and impactful for students.

As educators, we sure have our work cut out for us! However, we have a responsibility to the children within our walls each day. It is my mission within this blog to enable you to do your job with less sweat and tears and more energy and excitement by providing you with resources and encouragement as I learn and grow with you.

As you can probably tell by now, I am all about growth, but growth does not happen alone. We are in this together! This is why I chose the title, “Growing Young Minds with Yoo” for my blog – because together is where we flourish.

That’s all for now! Thank you for clicking on this page. I am delighted and humbled you’ve joined me! Let’s grow young minds together!
