Best Products to add to Your Teacher Amazon Wishlist in 2021

An Amazon wishlist? But why?

When I first became a teacher at the school I currently work for, my teammates were saying things like, “put it on your wishlist!” or “your families want to know what you need!” I was appalled, feeling incredibly awkward asking for things from people. However, my students’ parents and my own family and friends began requesting lists of things I needed for my classroom, and it finally dawned on me… teachers are one of the only groups of professionals that regularly spend money out of their own pockets to make their job possible. If someone wants to help me, why would I stop them? Furthermore, why should I rob someone of the opportunity to bless my students? So I made my first wishlist and I was floored by the results.

What is a Teacher Amazon Wishlist?

Teachers have begun using the wishlist feature on Amazon to request items for their classroom. Sometimes, they share this with their own personal friends and family via social media, teacher support groups, or if allowed in their district, they may share it with their students’ families. The wishlist will range in items and prices depending on content area, grade level, and individual teacher’s needs.

Why Does the Modern Teacher Need to Use Amazon Wishlists?

The bottom line is that teachers today do not generate enough income to fund all that they need in order to use best practices in their classroom. Additionally, while districts provide teachers with some funds, it still falls short of covering curriculum, organizational resources, rewards, decor, activities, supplies, etc. So why not put yourself out there a bit to get some of your teaching essentials covered? At the beginning of every school year, I look through a bunch of teachers’ lists to see what I may not have thought of. Here are some of the best items you may want to start with. You can expand your list, but here are my top 30 amazon must-haves to help get you started!
