I Tried Teacher Style Box for 30 Days… Here’s Everything You Need to Know

Starting towards the end of October, I was seeing posts about Teacher Style Box flooding into my Instagram feed. Clothing Rental designed specifically for teachers? I had to try it out! So, I was able to grab their “one-month free” deal and try it for myself. I am so excited to tell you all about it, and I would love to hear your thoughts on it as well.

How Does TSB Work?

1. Create an account. Take a style quiz, enter your information, and pay the $45 monthly fee.
2. Teacher Style Box then allows its members to access pictures of their clothing inventory; as the customer, you will pick and choose styles and sizes you would like to add to your “virtual closet.”
3. The company will then select 2 items from the pieces you have added to your virtual closet and ship them directly to you.
4. You can wear the styles as long as you would like. You may also choose to purchase any of the pieces at a slightly discounted rate.
5. Once finished with the items, slip them into a pre-paid shipping package and drop them as USPS. Don’t worry about washing them! They have each article of clothing professionally dry cleaned.
6. After you have started your return, Teacher Style Box will prepare and ship you 2 new items to wear.
7. Continue to wear and exchange pieces all month.

What Kind of Clothes Does TSB provide?

Teacher Style Box provides high-quality clothes from name brands such as Banana Republic and Loft to small business/boutique-style brands. The styles range anywhere from business professional to casual to formal. They have tops, bottoms, dresses, rompers, pants, cardigans, and more. They have even started a maternity line! They seem to be adding new arrivals to their inventory every week as well. They have plenty of clothes for the current season, but you can also access styles from previous seasons. You simply need to move an item to “on hold” if you would like to save it for another time.

A Peek into my 30 Days with TSB

Throughout the month of November, I received four boxes amounting to 8 total items. In my first box, I received a cute sweater and leopard print top. Both items fit me, and I found the opportunity to wear each top twice.

In my second box, I received a blouse and an animal print dress. I was so excited when I saw these two items were being sent. I really loved wearing the dress. I wore it for my formal observation, and it helped give me a boost of confidence! My favorite part of the dress was a tie in the back. However, I was pretty disappointed with the top. It was nothing like the picture. It was incredibly too low and very wrinkled upon arrival. I was not able to wear it.

In my third box, I received a prairie-styled dress and a super comfy sweater. Both items fit well and were comfortable to wear throughout the day. They were both so cute that even my students were complimenting them.

My fourth and final box had two items I had really been looking forward to receiving! However, I ended up getting sick and wasn’t really able to put them to use. The pieces were so cute and were of great quality, but I had to return them because my free trial was ending.

Pros

1. Pretty affordable – even for teachers!
2. Easy to use, and ships right to the door!
3. You can select the clothing items you would like to wear.
4. Quick, responsive, helpful, and kind customer service!
5. Lots of styles and clothing items to choose from, plus it’s being updated reguarly!
6. Discounts on purchasing clothing items.
7. Fun, fresh, and exciting clothing items to spice up your days.
8. TSB has a fully developed app so you can do all of your browsing, shopping, and returning through your phone. It works for Apple and Android.
9. They do have an option called “dart” that allows you to order a specific item for quick delivery if it is available. However, this requires an extra fee.
10. Who doesn’t love happy mail?!

Cons

1. You can’t choose the exact clothing items you would like to have in each box because it is based on what they have available in inventory.
2. You don’t know exactly when your box will arrive.
3. They say it’s unlimited box swaps, but really you can’t receive more than 4-5 a month with the time it takes to ship items back and forth.
4. Prices to purchase clothing items are significantly higher than most teachers could afford to pay which seems like a crock because they are items that have been worn before.
5. I tried to reach out about affiliate marketing on three occaisions but was always met with no response or a faulty website link.
6. Website occaisionally crashed or did not have the information I was looking for.

Final Thoughts…

After my free month with Teacher Style Box, I did not continue my subscription. I was sad to not get the happy mail anymore, but I couldn’t justify the extra $45 a month for clothes I can’t keep at my current life stage. If I am at a different place in the future, I would definitely sign up for TSB again!
